E-Z-Hook Streamliner Build Video Part 2
Friday, August 24, 2012
Motorcycle Land Speed Racing is gearing up this fall for what could be a historic meet at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Sam Wheeler is re-engineering his E-Z-Hook streamliner for a 400 mph attempt at the Mike Cook Bonneville Shootout
, where he will race against his familiar rivals the Ack Attack streamliner (piloted by Motorcycle USA contributing editor Rocky Robinson) and possibly the BUB Number 7 streamliner (piloted by AMA Flat Track legend Chris Carr). MotoUSA featured Wheeler and the E-Z-Hook project in a recent feature (Sam Wheeler Prepares for 400 mph
) but the good folks at IGNITION3 have filed another video update.
Episode 2 focuses on the E-Z-Hook’s secondary transmission, which Wheeler refers to as “the big speed secret” of the new streamliner. Powered now by a turbo-charged Hayabusa Inline Four, the E-Z-Hook will rocket up to triple digits via an auxiliary transmission built by Weismann
before switching over to the conventional six-speed gearbox. The video includes a comprehensive explanation of the auxiliary transmission from Chris Weismann himself.
Enjoy and keep checking back for more E-Z-Hook updates as the 400 mph plans culminate this September. For more information visit the official E-Z-Hook Streamliner website: www.streamliner.com
