Jason DiSalvo Sets Land Speed Record

Tuesday, October 23, 2012
Team Latus Motors Racing’s Jason DiSalvo recently piloted a Triumph Rocket III Roadster at the Bonneville Salt Flats and set a new AMA and FIM land-speed racing record in the Modified Aspirated Fuel (MAF) class for motorcycles up to 3,000cc. Riding for the Hot Rod Conspiracy/Carpenter Racing Team, DiSalvo’s initial run was 175.998 mph and his return was 172.587 mph, earning him an average speed of 174.276 for the flying mile and 174.880 for the flying kilometer. The Rocket III Roadster utilized one of Bob Carpenter’s 240hp over-the-counter performance kits. DiSalvo’s record must be ratified by the FIM before it’s completely official, which is expected to happen in November during the FIM’s meeting in Valencia, Spain.

That is pretty damn awesome. Is DiSalvo still with the Latus team? Sure didn't look like it at the last couple of rounds.
