2009 Yamaha
V Star 650 Custom
MSRP $6,290
The Custom gives the rider plenty of cruiser attitude for the buck. With a V-Twin packing the engine bay, shotgun-style staggered exhausts, a bobtail rear fender, chrome tank-mounted instruments, and an elongated 5 1/2 feet wheelbase you will think you're on a much larger, more expensive bike.

Good Motorcycle plain and simple. I would agree that it could use a 6th gear on highways. Bike looks sharp and being 6 - 1 I feel pretty good on it. I go on hundred plus mile rides weekly and seat is ok by me. My main problem is the exhaust sounds like crap so I'm going to add the V&H's short shots, Hypercharger and re-jet the carb and it should be a bad ass bike.

This is my first bike and I LOVE IT, I've noticed a few things to complain about such as a stiff read suspension, but that can (and will be) adjusted soon, my butt begins to tingle after riding for about 30 minutes, I may replace the seat eventually but for now it does it's job and for some reason I have problems putting it into N until I rock it back and forth with the clutch engaged. I'm sure it's just how the gears are meshing but it's a small annoyance none the less. My car does the same time from time to time. Other then the above this bike rides like a dream and I would recomend it as any ones first bike. I went throug the MSF course on a 250 Ninja and can honestly say I was bored with it by day 2.

Love this motorcycle! Was riding Intruder 800, was just a little top heavy and the ram horns, though making the turns easy, just weren't for me. I love the balance on this bike, the easy shifting, though a bit quick to catch but you get used to it pretty quick. It has a lot of "git up and go' for good acceleration at lights, etc. It is comfortable. I added floorboards and love it. The rear brake is easy to cover. It is good looking, too, midnight blck, love the paint and the matte black. I love this bike, I am still a rookie driver and this bike is so balanced it gives me the confidence to concentrate on stuff other than balancing the bike! PS I am 5'2", and can plant both feet on the ground. Oh, did I mention I love this bike?
