other thn the slightly clunky trans this bike was a pleasure to ride cross country.we amassed over 8500 miles in two weeks and the FJR was bulletproof the entire trip.not quite as fast or comfortable as the concours 1400,but close, very close...had NO quality issues at all.2008 model

The power offered on the FJR is addictive...with the suspension being fairly versatile, but taking time to tune. Ergonomics has something to be desired, with shorter riders needing to lower the bike. A larger windshield is also in order to keep the buffeting away. The bike responds nicely in turns, but not so well in the rain. Issues encountered include a off-start stalling problem - fixed with a TPS and ECU replacement, and a grounding harness problem (known by FJR owners as a spider bite). However, overall I like the bike...

For my height of 5ft 11 I find the bike can be a bit high to move around or back into a spot that is a little up hill.
The bike is a bit of a rattle trap. Horn loose fromm factory. Locking attachments for fairing missing. I still have some rattles that make the bike sound cheep.
The power and ride are perfect for me and I have no issues with the stock saddle.
Throw the stock wind sheild away and get one from cal/sci
The honda st1300 and the kawy concourse just don't look as sporty. they seem to look more like gold wings.
