I rated the WR with 5 Stars accross the board. Haveing riden for 40 years and haveing had numerous dual sports, I feel the Yamaha has set the bar very high for the 250 class. I've changed the gearing on my bike. Going with a smaller front sprocket. I felt this would improve off highway performance and have been rewarded with a machine that is better suited to the type riding I do. And it is still very compitent around town. Highway riding is a bit busier now but I have other machines for that type riding. I have changed other parts out due to personal preferance. But would have been served quite nicely had I changed nothing. I'm just one of those types that won't leave well enough alone.

As you should already know this bike is not going to perform like a full on off road dirt bike. I feel that the bike has plenty of power but they could have made the suspension a little better, especially for what this bike costs. Ive had the WR250r & the KLX250s, not much difference in suspension, but the wr has a very noticable amount more power. I feel that for the money & reasonable expectations from a bike that you can ride at 70MPH on the road all day with no problems, this is a good off road bike.
