I used to be the biggest Yamaha rider that you would ever have known until my buddy talked me into going to our local Victory dealer, JPM Performance. I have always liked the Hammer and when I saw mine on the showroom floor I was hooked. Then when I found out it was 96 horse power, stock, and 114 Ft Lbs of torque at the rear wheel, stock, I was done. I traded my V-Star in on the spot and road my 09 Hammer home that day. In the three weeks I have had my Hammer I have put over 1000 miles on it and can't wait to see that 10000 mile mark. The power is unreal. The torque is just short of ripping your helmet off from a dead start. Banging second gear and pulling the front tire off the ground is really awesome on a bike that weights in at just short of 700 pounds. The sound of that 250 series tire pealing up the black top at stop lights wakes most on-lookers up. And then the grin comes when you roll it over banging second. Smoking these SS Camaro's is hilarious. They, the Hammer, come with a bit more chrome than I like on a machine that was obviously built by someone who has a deeply seated hatered for crotch rockets, and that's what I love most about the Hammer. These yuppies on there CBR's and GSX's get so pissed when I leave then behind me off the line when the light turns GREEN. A fuel gauge rather than a low fuel light would make me feel a little safer when out riding but at least I have some kind of warning. My V-Star didn't have any of it. All I look forward to now is adding the two into one exhaust and the K&N intake with the computer fuel re-map. I soon plan on making this Hammer a 200 horse power bike and well into the 300 Ft Lbs of torque bike. Hyabusa's beware of this Hammer!!!
