I've owned two of these and not a single problem with either one(except the recalls.Thank goodness Kawasaki addressed the engine heat issue in 2010.that was the only weak point of the bike....

i had a bmw 1200gt that loved the service dept. Electrical gremlins are the norm. That all changed with the gtr1400. perfect bike for all round riding, have added area p exhaust and fuel moto's dynojet and this is a beast with all day comfort. it loved deal's gap and is close to the all round bike you need even if it is not the one you want!

Maybe it's just mine? When I picked up the bike new from dealer both tire pressure montitors had to be replaced. After my first trip about 4000 miles the rear hub was leaking oil all over the wheel took it to the dealer and they replaced all of the seals. After mt second trip about 3000 miles there was oil all over the rear wheel took it to a different dealer guess what they replaced all of the seals. What's the definition of insanity? Anyway they assured me it was taken care of. Went on a short 150 - 200 mile trip to southern Ohio you guessed it. Now they want to drill a hole in the rear hub block off the vent pressurize the system and check the porosity of the hub! I did truly love the bike but it's hard to be confident going through the twisties when there is a good chance that you have oil on the rear wheel. Oh and the rear tire pressure monitor has not worked for months now.
