I have ridden mid-weight sport bikes for more than 20 years and was looking for a bigger motorcycle that would be comfortable for long trips, easy to ride around town, and fun to ride without having to scrape the pegs on every corner. After test riding a number of machines, I chose the Dyna Low Rider. The low end torque will put a smile on your face when you let out the clutch for the first time, and the throaty exhaust note provides convincing evidence of the power of the 96 cubic inch engine (1584 cc). Overall workmanship, paint, and fit and finish are excellent. The surplus of chrome along with the low seat and raked front forks gives the bike a distinctive custom look. As far as the ride is concerned, it is solid and smooth with a comfortable seating position that pays dividends on longer rides. Low speed handling is excellent thanks to the great balance. In fact, it's as easy or easier to maneuver in the parking lot than many mid sized bikes. On the road, the ride is very smooth, almost cushy, with little engine vibration except for a narrow band around 3,000 rpm as you go through the gears. In the corners, you can tell this isn't a sport bike, but it handles curves much better than some of the heavier Harleys. If you're looking for a sport bike, this aint it. But if you want a cruiser/touring bike with decent handling and lots of character, the Dyna Low Rider is hard to beat.
