2009 Triumph
America
MSRP $8,699
With distinctive cruiser styling and design, the America not only has the looks, but delivers exactly what the rider wants in more ways than one. Sit back, put your feet up and settle into a riding position that’s built for comfort. Take hold of the pulled back bars and listen to our traditional British air-cooled 865cc parallel twin emit an even gruntier, off beat sound that’s even more unique and distinctive, thanks to the 270º crank. Twist the throttle and feel the effortless torquey performance that ensures every journey on an America is a ride to remember.

OK so I am a 60 year old woman and this is my first bike and it is PERFECT. I love its size and handling. Not too heavy but holds the road great. It has the looks and the power to get me down the road in style and safety. I don't know engines like the guys but this bike doesn't need much outside routine maintenance. I love it and get compliments from all the Harley riders where ever I go! I also compliment my Triumph dealer for great customer service.

At the ripe old age of 53 it was time to down size from the HD,,Why did'nt I do it years ago ?
At $6300 out the door I got a great deal , I have not had so much fun out of a bike since my teen's , Its everything you ever want from a bike and then some on top,
the one thing I have changed is the seat (speedmaster)

By far the most comfortable bike I have ever owned.I like the retro style. The handling is superb, ergonomics great and if you don't want a bike that is typical pack mentality Triumph is a standout. The Boneville line takes the same 865cc engine and massages it from 54 hp low end America up to 61hp. I'd have like the extra 7hp on mine but other than that its solid looks and value

After 15,000 miles and 4 major trips, I can define the America as a great road bike. If your over 6' you will love the ergonomics. If you ride at 60+ mph you will love the engines high revs and torque. If you like a cruiser but like the ride the twisties from time to time, you will love the America. My only complaints are the suspension that limits the bikes abilities and the sound. The bike sounds like an electric motor and your first duty is the change the pipes.

The bike is a good all around motorcycle from the style, to comfort, and to the performance. I feel that if you were comparing this bike to a Harley Davidson in size of room for the rider, and passenger it would a little larger than a Low rider I owned awhile back.
Thing Triumph could add to this bike would be a 6 gear transmission because at 75 to 80 MPH it is pulling some RPMs. Do not get me wrong it has plenty of throttle left at 80 MPH to roll on but makes you think you need to shift a gear.
The other thing Triumph should add is self canceling signals, and hazard lights.
