After tons of research I decided this was the best buy on the market for an "All around" bike. Now that I have owned it for six months (and 10,000 miles) I'm sure I made the right choice.
This is the most bang for your buck on the market today. Plenty of power, awesome on the highway and handles well in the city.

OK, so the price was right for getting an awful lot, but I hadn't realized that the sum was so much greater that the parts. Although the bike is a little heavy, handling is very good. Not the razor sharp cornering of a race bike, but very stable. The suspension could be a little stiffer, but it is always a balance, and for general use and sport touring this is pretty good. The engine is stupendous. Pulls like a truck from low down, so that even though it is a heavier bike it is still a very good bike around town, and marvelous on the highway and in the twisties. Well controlled power and a lot of it. The headlight leaves a bit to be desired, easily remedied by replacing the bulb with an upgrade. The bike pretty much does everything at about 85% of what you would expect a bike dedicated to a particular job to do with one exception: do not expect to have fun on gravel, dirt, or mud (yeah, I tried, just don't). I've got ABS and love it: not obtrusive and works very well.
