I'm an experienced rider, ex car road-racer and MSF Instructor. I also own a '96 VFR. The Kawi I use for the city. The engine has almost no power, but for city commuting it is ok. What I like is the great fuel economy, the great brakes (stoppies are a cinch on this bike) and the great handling. I have a shattered hip from a previous mc crash, and it is very easy to start and stop this bike, lifting my legs on and off the ground. Because of the lowered suspension, I am able to scrape the pegs when the road is clear and clean, but there is a good amount of cornering clearance. It handles like a feather - so light that countersteering is barely perceptible. There is something I love about being on a bike that is so light and easy that you almost don't realize you're riding . . . until after about an hour when the seat stops supporting you. . . .
Overall a fun bike with great gas mileage. I have had no problems after 6,000 miles, except a sticky clutch sensor which, until I WD40'd it, wouldn't let me start with the clutch in in first gear. Now it is fine.
