In my oppinion BMW hasn't done bad for a first attempt but there are places where it can definatly be better. To start with the engine can be more powerful 193hp, im sure the engine can do close to 220hp without any real mods, a 2007 Suzuki slightly done gives 208hp.
the suspention is subtle but the backwheel still jumps at every opportunity on bumby roads, and on track the back doesn't seem to give way enough on hard acceleration, that would give better traction.
Handeling is very good unlike the other superbikes out there it doesn'y feel like its falling into the turn but gives the rider the control, and surely gets my vote.
The Transmission is out of this world, like n triptronic box on a car you give it everything you can handle and switch, no clutch no slipped gears, no hassels, imagine being able to gear down like this to.
It's a beautiful bike to look at from any angle but one, the front, it doesn't work for me, ok so BMW is known for to different headlamp sizes, so why not just keep the look of the well designed lefthand lamp and just give it a bubble to to top to have it bigger, the round light on the right look out of place, like it comes from a 19-something bike.the tank has a nasty hump just as you tuck-in when realy pushing the bike a bit making you arc your back, that is a bit to say the least uncomfortable.
The S1000RR is by far the most expensive 1000cc super out there and i think its a bit over priced i am sure BMW would be able to drop its pricing by 15k, the better price would equal to more being sold thus a bigger market segment taken and more profit overall, its got a lovely waranty but still the price is on the high side.
Brakes on this very well built bike is surely a match to the engine refined and sure, if you touch it be sure it will be there, most components used in this BMW is of superior quality like we are used to taking a look at the cars they build, however the one i had privilage of using had a fairing that in my opinion could have a better fit and BMW could have made the so called "belly-pan" stretching a bit futher so that it covers the now visible and after a couple a hundred miles or so looking like its from a 20yr volkswagon, look at how good the racebikes look with the enlonged "belly-pan".
Kind Regards,
