I have had quite a few motorcycles (built for boxes of junk) and two prior Chinese made Mopeds that required a great deal of work but they finally ran very well (50cc).

I bought the Aprilia to avoid the above issues but it is showing to many problems in the first two weeks of ownership.
1)Fuel float filled with fuel and gauge dropped to zero
2)Starting problems with Carbon canister or other issue
3)Cut vacuum line
4)Finally it stopped at 20mph in traffic in a busy intersection. It restarted but gave off a burning smell and ran very poorly I.E. Missing, Stutter etc. Finally died. Gas in the tank, it turns over but will not start.

My reason for purchasing the Aprilia was an excellent review (internet) and teh reputation of the Sportbike line. Cost was over 3X a comparable Asian import but reliability ????

Pros: Big tyres, big brakes, feels light and stable

Cons: Just fits a 6 foot tall rider, Questionable reliability

I purchased this bike for a small commuter however I have had nothing but trouble from day one. I have had the bike for 2 months and have been back to the dealer 5 times for the same issue. The problems include:
1. A fuel gauge that shows the tank to be completely empty at 4 litres, leaving 3.5 litres of fuel left (6 litre tank with a 1.5 litre reserve making it a 7.5 litres)
2. A major loss in power resulting in Wide Open Throttle (WOT) to achieve a maximum of 65km/h up a slight incline.
3. Once warm the bike will misfire from a standstill (so severely it will not move), on exiting corners, and under load - up a hill, WOT.
4.It stalls at sets of lights all the time. Also it has stalled when braking and in mid corner. I am just lucky no-one has been behind me when this has happened.

Overall Opinion DEATH TRAP!
