It’s called Custom because this is how riders did it back when they rolled their own: A flat handlebar sits in custom clamps atop distinctive forks that hold a tall, slender custom-looking front wheel. A bobbed (as in shortened) rear fender perches over a fat tire, and cool, clean components fill out the middle — including a rumbling fuel-injected 903cc V-twin exhaling through dual slash-cut exhausts, a low gunfighter-style seat and forward-mounted footpegs complete its rakish image.

Suspension is a bit firm but this gives the bike surprisingly nimble handling for a cruiser. Well balanced at low speed and the engine pulls smoothly and strongly from very low revs. Everything is satisfyingly chunky and comfortable. Gearbox is slick. Belt drive is smooth and silent. Build quality seems excellent for the price point. Starter motor barely has to turn the engine one revolution and it fires up instantly. Fuel wise I am consistently getting 69mpg (UK gallons) or 57mpg (US gallons) for varied riding on mixed roads.

Got into the new 2010 Vulcan 900 Custom flat-black.
PROS- the bike has a great look; engine is powerful for a cruiser; ride position is just okay; lights and instrumentation is enough; just comfortable for two; perfect size and handling for two; easy handling, perfect weight, great size gas tank and once again, GREAT LOOKING BIKE. CONS- position of the feet is strange and sometimes dangerous for a person coming out of a center foot position; Rear brake I find it very week, you need to put more than your toes to have breaking power due to the position of your foot; feet will be pulled backwards by the wind over 70 mph due to the position; The exhaust will burn you almost all the time (like the HD X1200N); rear pax will always leave his shoe marks in the exhaust...Did not notice before purchasing it...everything engine covers are plastic, but still look great!
OVERALL- Great bike for the PRICE and size, would recommend over any other sporty looking cruisers out there. Ride safe, LCL

me and my woman bought it cause of its reliability, no single day regret for that! it takes 1 liter of gas at 24 kilometer! (by a fueltank of 20 liters...)at the highway very stabel and with the caferacer-windshield no more cold boobs whatsoever.

and with the rearbrake a litle, you can steer it very short!

so over all a great bike, and in the new black-spark color 2010 even nicer
