These guys are seriously bad news. I have brought a Honda mower in twice for warranty repairs. I gave clear instructions to only repair items that were covered under warranty the first time, instead they up sticking me with a nearly $200 bill when I came to pick the mower up. Claiming that the repair was "not covered" under warranty. Of course to get the mower back, I was forced to cough up the cash. I then brought the mower back a few months later for the same problem (in addition to a new one). This time they stated that work that was previously covered under warranty, no longer was applicable. The owner then backtracked saying they never did that work (even though it was on the previous warranty writeup as a covered item) My gut feeling is that these guys get paid twice. Once from me, another when they submit the claim to Honda! Deceptive practices at best - outright Fraud at worst!

Dealership is awesome. Parts dept is friendly and knowledgeable. Service dept is efficient. I took my bike in for a rear tire change, oil change, spark plugs swap and air filter. They were done in less than three hours. Now thats some same day service.

I bought a Goldwing from Leipold's...got a great deal. Friends recommended them to me. Very good price for the bike, nice owners. I came from pretty far away because of the great deal and honest people to deal with.

Leipold is the best dealer out there!! My husband and I both got Yamaha motorcycles from here. No one else could even touch the excellent prices we got from them, for either of our bikes. Everyone from Bill in sales, to the service / parts dept., to the owners,
Bud & Linda was a pleasure to deal with. Very good prices, honest people, excellent service. I will never go anywhere else, they are the ONLY dealer we let work on our bikes. We have sent friends here and they feel the same way. If you're looking for the best to buy a bike or to have service done go to Leipold Motor Sales in Ottawa, IL., you will not be sorry!!

This dealership is staffed with friendly, knowledgible people who cater to their clients. There is always a nice selection of bikes on the showroom floor and the service and parts departments are top-notch. These are just a few of the reasons why I have purchased 2 new bikes and my wife has purchased a used bike ( her first bike ) and a new bike from Leipold's. We wouldn't think about going to another dealership !

I have purchased two Suzuki motorcycles from Leipold Motor Sales and both experiences were great! When I purchased my second bike they went out of their way to search for the color I wanted and found it (quickly). I have had all of my service done there and am completely satisfied. They do great work and treat you like family. They have also been very helpful in ordering special items (helmets, floorboards, saddlebags, etc.). They are strong supporters of female riders!

Leipold Motor Sales has no integrity and cannot be trusted.

I got a price on an ATV from another dealer. I called Leipold and described exactly what I was looking for and the previous price. I was told by the owner that he could beat the price by $300 for the exact same ATV. We specifically talked about the unit having power steering. I drove to Ottawa and purchased the ATV. As I was unloading the unit into my garage, I realized that the one he gave me did not have power steering. I immediately called the dealership...must have been an oversight. The nice salesman was now gone and he was rude. I was asking to keep the ATV and get a credit for the price difference or return the ATV. He would do neither. There is no satisfaction guarantee to say the least and no return policy. I paid for an ATV with power steering and received one without. He would do nothing to fix the problem. Completely unexceptable and unethical! Oh and the salesman was the owner so that shows what kind of business this is!

I scheduled my 2007 FJR for the factory recall on the ignition switch. They said sure and gave me a date out about a week out. I show up as scheduled and leave the FJR. A few hours into the workday I get a call from Leipolds explaining that we don’t have the parts, So disappointed and looking to get something done out of this effort I hesitate but ask to have the engine oil changed. They say sure it will be done this evening. I show after work at the service desk ready to settle up for the oil and get a bill for $92.87! Flabbergasted I ask the desk guy what makes an oil change $100! Especially after you took time out of my day and didn’t come through with the ignition switch you said you had. They said we did a bike inspection too… WOW! A bike inspection. Thanks, that makes all the difference.... Who ask you to do that! I needed the ignition switch replaced you couldn’t, I asked for an oil changed and you gouged me. After separating with Mr. Franklin they said they would call when the parts came. Well, I’m waiting, two months have passed, no call. Not like it matters, I’ll never set foot in the dealership again.

Good-bye Leipolds and I hope readers take note. I'm a life long biker and back in the late 70’s when I was a kid trying to scrape up enough money to by parts for my broken Honda I had a similar problem with them. Well money is no longer the issue for me, its integrity, and they still don’t have it.
