2011 Atlanta Supercross start

After getting a bad start in Atlanta's main, Mike Alessi also suffered a crash that pushed him to the back again where he finished 18th.

Kawasaki's Blake Baggett engaged Justin Barcia for most of the race, but was ultimately unable to make the pass and finished third.

Wild Child Justin Barcia followed his win in Houston with runner-up status in Atlanta's Georgia Dome.

Chad Reed had a harsh pass attempt on James Stewart for the lead, but it went horribly wrong and both riders crashed out.

Andrew Short: "Overall I was happy with my ride tonight. My first five laps were really good and I was able to move into the top-five. I’m bummed Trey [Canard] got around me at the end but I am still happy to be close to the top-five. We are continuing to make great progress every week.”

In the final laps of Atlanta's contest James Stewart managed his way around Chad Reed for the lead before the two riders crashed each other out.

RV added his third win to his 2011 statistics ahead of Suzuki's Ryan Dungey and TwoTwo Motorsports' Chad Reed.

RV was gifted the win in Atlanta after the race's two frontrunners wiped out.

Geico Powersports Honda’s Blake Wharton (#21) nailed the holeshot in the Lites main as Malcolm Stewart (#139) went down behind him.
