I rode the 2012 Triumph Tiger Explorer
a week ago and the thing is amazing. As with the Tiger 800, the larger Inline Triple engine just works with the Adventure Touring
platform. Triumph built this engine from the ground up with a massive 950W piggy-back alternator which left room for a flywheel on the crankshaft. Power is supremely smooth and usable with plenty of torque for snappy acceleration, two-up touring or lugging the engine off-road.
At right is a dyno graph provided by Triumph
. We will post our own once the bike is available in the U.S.
137 PS = 135 HP
121 Nm = 89.3 lb-ft.
100 Nm = 73 lb-ft.
