Bottom-end engine performance isn’t the best attribute of Yamaha’s YZF-R6.

The Yamaha R6 isn’t the easiest motorcycle to ride quick due to its narrow powerband and aggressive handling manners.

The Yamaha YZF-R6 is one of the physically smallest bikes in this test.

Like the Suzuki, the Yamaha’s drivetrain works well and the calibration of the slipper clutch is excellent.

The Yamaha YZF-R6 employs very racy ergonomics that are better suited to those of average and below height.

The Yamaha YZF-R6 is most happy when leaned over through a corner.

The high-rpm shriek emitted from the Inline-Four engine is second to none in this test.

While the Yamaha YZF-R6 requires more work from its rider when pushed it becomes a very enjoyable bike to ride.

Historically we’ve always been big fans of the Yamaha YZF-R6’s styling but it now seems a little dated.
