Following his wins at Misano, Carlos Checa now leads the 2011 World Superbike Championship by 72 points ahead of Max Biaggi.

Carlos Checa: "What a great result today! In the first race, I didn’t make a great start, losing some ground through the first corners. Max was strong at the start and it wasn’t easy to pass him but once in front, I was able to find good rhythm and build a small advantage. I’m extremely satisfied also because the tire began to slide in the final laps and it was very hot today." Race 1 Misano 2011

Leon Haslam (#91) had another gritty and hard-fought day of racing at Misano, falling in Race 1 and defending his places hard in Race 2 to finish fifth. - 2011

Eugene Laverty: "We took a gamble with the rear tire in Race 1 and it was ok until about four laps to go. The left side of the tire was completely worn which is very strange considering it's a right handling track. I was very disappointed to lose fourth position just at the end." - Misano Race 1 2011
