Casey Stoner: "in general the bike worked very well straight out of the box so I'm very grateful for this and cannot complain too much. There are a few things we would like to improve with how the bike turns, but we didn't get any time on track this afternoon to try anything." - Mugello Practice 2011
Dani Pedrosa gradually increased his pace throughout the afternoon and eventually finished seventh in the timesheets. - Mugello Practice 2011
Valentino Rossi: "It’s almost as if we didn’t have practice today. This morning we only had one complete outing, which went pretty well. Then we had problems with both of the bikes, and I was left with the time that I did on my fourth lap. They were really just minor problems, but the fact is that we didn’t ride anymore after the early minutes." - Mugello Practice 2011
Marco Simoncelli: "The bike is set up virtually the same as Assen and I found a good feeling immediately. Obviously we have a little work to do on the electronics but in general I am happy.” - Mugello Practice 2011
Nicky Hayden: "We were pretty strong in our first run this morning. We didn’t improve much from there, but I used the same hard tire the whole session, and it worked well here on both sides. We made a couple little changes with the bike that felt like they were in a good direction." - Mugello Practice 2011

Casey Stoner: "I'm really happy to get pole here especially on a used tire. The start of qualifying didn't look too good, there was some rain and it was difficult to know how much to push so we went with soft tires on front and rear to try and get a good lap time before the rain arrived." - Mugello Qualifying 2011
Dani Pedrosa: "I was pretty lucky because the session was only 30 minutes old when the rain arrived and this is good for my injury. I made a few nice laps at the beginning of the session and I'm impressed with my lap time, eighth place on the grid is very good given my physical condition. I know that in the race it will be hard but I will try my best." - Mugello Qualifying 2011
