calmes sucks June 17, 2009 12:49 PM
Biggest crooks in Denham springs. I brought my jet ski to them since its in town and they could look at it the next day. 10 days later after multiple calls they look at it and tell me my compression is bad and it'll be 600$ just to look at it. After hearing rumors of how they pick and choose on their service,(by giving ridiculous estimates forcing customers to go else where) after 130$ i figured I'd get another oppinion. I did and they were wrong, my compression was fine. fuel pump was bad. Save yourself thousands of dollars and go to Lightspeed motorsports. They have the only marine certified PWC mechanic in the area. have heard same complaints about atv's.

here is a copy of the letter i sent To whom it may concern or preferably someone with the last name Calmes. I recently purchased a new Polaris 850 from you guys (Calmes Motor Sports) and I have to tell you it has not been a pleasant experience. First of all, I have not met the first person with the last name Calmes. According to the Walton and Johnson radio show the Calmes family business knows all of their customers on a first name basis. That doesn’t seem to be the case here but that does not really bother me. What bothers me is after 4.6 hours on the machine the rear CV joint broke yeah i know wha your thinking but the machine was completely stock. I brought it up there Saturday evening because that was the only day I could get it up there. Then on Wednesday I called to check the status on it because I had a big ride planned for the following weekend and when I called, know one there new what to do with the machine. Then the service department tried to charge me five hundred dollars to fix something that should have been covered under warranty. That was taken care of after an act of congress and I got my bike back that Friday. Next, I bring it in on the following Monday for the ten-hour service and it gets wrote up the proper way and my bill was supposed to be two hundred and seventy five dollars. That’s a little steep but I needed it done. I let a full seven days go buy before I even called back to check on it because we all got off on the wrong foot the week before. When I called the service department told me they haven’t touched it yet because the new employee wrote it up wrong and my new bill is three hundred and eighty five dollars. (I mean get real $385 for an oil change and the other stuff they SAY THEY ARE DOING WINK! WINK!). The new employee was supposed to call me and ask if I still wanted it done. He never called so my bike sat there for a week untouched. That is piss poor communication on your service department. My father has his own business and when he gives someone a bid on something he cant wait a week later and say oh my bad I messed up let me charge you a little more. That’s your employee’s fault, not mine. Let me throw this other bit of info at you as well. At this time my bike has been in your garage longer than mine, and its brand new. Anyway being an idiot I say roll with it, fix it for $385. As the day grew longer the angrier I got at the way it was handled. I call back at four and they still haven’t done anything to it so I told them don’t touch it ill come get it. Well I picked up the bike, bought me a service manual and did it myself. That’s over with but now the bills and other Polaris paperwork are coming in and guess what? My name doesn’t appear anywhere on it. My Father was supposed to be the co signer not the buyer. So this needs to be fixed because if it has to stay in my dads name he wants the 1.9% financing. On that note I called today June 1, 2009 at four to speak with someone about the matter and they took my info and someone would call me back in twenty minutes. Well it’s ten at night right now and no one ever called. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter and I would appreciate a call back soon. I usually like to handle my personal matters in person but my work does not allow it at times so as soon as I get a chance I will make a trip to see you guys. Your irritated customer
