For both safety and to be able control the bike on a dirt oval a steel shoe is a prerequisite for flat track racing. John Reinhard out of Corona, California can fabricate a custom shoe for a nominal price. We chose to fit it on an Alpinestars Supertech R road race boot as it is much lighter than a standard motocross boot while still providing adequate level of protection.
