Continental Issues Motorcycle Tire Recall

Continental has issued a motorcycle tire recall for over 9000 tires sold in the Americas between 2007 and 2014. The affected 120/70 ZR 17 and 120/70 R 17 models include ContiSportAttack, ContiAttack, ContiRaceAttack Comp. Soft, Medium and Endurance and ContiRoadAttack 2. According to the company, “market feedback” led to the discovery that some tires “have exhibited a condition in the tread and/or belt which may lead to separation and possible air loss.” There have been no reported injuries or accidents as a result of the issue to-date.

The final four digits indicate the week/year production period; 1907 being produced in the 19th week of 2007 for example. According to Continental there are no other sizes, production periods or product lines affected in this recall.
