Cholmondley Pageant of Power

Sammy Miller
Sammy Miller will be present at the Cholmondley Pageant of Power along with World Superbike's Tom Sykes.
The big Daddy of classic car and bike events is the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but making a real challenge is the Cholmondley Pageant of Power set to take place July 15th-17th.

The format of the two events is eerily similar. Both are held in stunningly beautiful locations in aristocratic country estates. Goodwood is in the south of England whilst Cholmondley lies in the north-west, deep within the heart of picture book pretty Cheshire.

Both are mainly car events with bikes as a secondary attraction, and both have sprint races along the narrow, bumpy, tree-lined estate roads.

Goodwood tends to focus on more modern cars and corporate hospitality, while Cholmondley is much more relaxed and throws in power boats, helicopter displays and a classical music concert – complete with fireworks.

From the bikers’ point of view the star of the event is undoubtedly Sammy Miller, with his four-cylinder Gilera, and Tom Sykes will be bringing his WSBK Kawasaki to entertain the thousands of spectators. There is also a good sprinkling of TT stars including nine time winner, Charlie Williams, and ex-Honda factory rider, Tommy Robb.

MCUSA’s Frank Melling will also be making an appearance on his very fast Seeley Suzuki.
