2011 Indianapolis Dealer Expo Friday

Saturday, February 19, 2011
National Powersport Auctions NPA is holding a live auction on Saturday February 19 from the Dealer Expo floor.
There are plenty of bikes and products on display at this year's Dealer Expo in Indianapolis.
Motorcycle USA is here at the 2011 Indianapolis Dealer Expo to bring you the latest on the newest products available in the Powersports market and show you first-hand what is happening on the show floor.

This year marks the first show inside the newly expanded Indianapolis Convention Center located in the middle of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Past years presented limited floor space and resulted in navigation issues along with extensive travel on foot to view all the show had to offer. With space plentiful this year, the vibe is positive and navigating the show is easier than ever. Organized neatly this year, the show is segmented into 11 product sections that include categories such as gear/apparel, helmets, racing and performance, business services and more. With the new show format it was easy to get around and spot some of the newest products being introduced and these are just some of the first that caught our eye.

In the rider safety market there is a new product available to help combat everyday riding on the roads or in the city. Viber Ride created an alert tactile device that reminds a rider his/her turn signal is on. Turn signal vibration technology is embedded into a rider’s handlebar that emits vibrations to notify the rider when the turn signal is left on. Options include silver, black and chrome end caps to match a bikes décor. Viber Ride’s slogan reads, "driven by innovation and inspired by design" and is dedicated to providing quality products with a difference.

Another new product that caught our eye is the limited edition replica Shoei X-Twelve helmet in honor of fallen Japanese Moto2 rider Shoya Tomizawa. A portion of the profit from every helmet sold from this one-off production run will go to a memorial fund set up in Shoya’s name by his parents. The role of the fund is to educate young riders who dream of becoming professional racers similar to Tomizawa. The outer shell of the X-12 is composed from six layers of super-strong organic fibreglass and carbon while the inner EPS receives a dual-density shock-absorbing lining.

To wrap things up we are going to mention a new highlight of the show featuring the National Powersports Auction (NPA). On site will be a live auction for the first time ever hosted by the NPA. Hundreds of mint condition pre-owned units from various NPA business partners will be available to attendee’s to bid on at the Dealer Expo. In addition to participating in the auction, the NPA will be providing educational seminars to attendee’s on the pre-owned market and how to participate in a live auction at Dealer Expo.
