Flyer with event and contact information for the Ride Annie Ride benefit run.
A Wish Come True…

Come April 24th, the sleepy foothill town of Grass Valley, California will be alive with the sound of thundering V-Twin engines, stifled touring bikes, and high-revving sportbikes. They’ve all come together to celebrate the life of Annie Goeden, a Yuba City resident whose wish will be fulfilled to ride on the back of a Harley.

Annie, 28, is a single mom. Her son Jake is three years old and almost always sports a perpetual grin. In 2006 Annie was struck with Osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. She’s endured numerous surgeries including a hip replacement and the removal of her left leg. She is in Stage 4 of this terrible disease, but insists on living life to the fullest. This ride is our way of showing her she’s appreciated and that people really do care.

It’s rare to see all makes of bikes riding together, but good people pulling together for a good cause trumps the barriers one might associate with this type of event. Members of a Christian motorcycle club will be lining up next to a nearby ironworkers bike club and at least one local HOG chapter.
The ride through Sutter Buttes will offer some of the best views and land scapes that northern california has to offer.
The ride through Sutter Buttes will offer some of the best views and landscapes that Northern California has to offer.

Local business owners, artists, musicians, slowpokes and racers are all planning to attend. The two-wheeled rolling thunder will wander the rolling hills of Grass Valley on Highway 20, meeting up with more local bikers from the Yuba City area at Sam Brannan Park. We will then respectfully “invade” Annie’s neighborhood to greet the unsuspecting guest of honor. She’s sure to be surprised…

From there we take the backroads to the nearby Sutter Buttes - the world’s smallest mountain range. With Annie riding shotgun, we’ll meander through the Buttes at a leisurely pace, stopping for photos and leg stretching along the way. Bench racing will be kept to a minimum as there’s a schedule to keep.
Bikes of all shapes and sizes make their way through the rolling hills of northern Ca.
Bikes of all shapes and sizes will make their way through the rolling hills of Northern California for the Ride Annie Ride Benefit.

Once we’ve rounded the mountain range, we’ll follow our noses back to the park where barbecue, sandwiches and cool beverages will be waiting, thanks to those who’ve volunteered their time to feed the hungry lot. Donations will be presented and I’m sure a few tears will be wept.

Motorcyclists are a great bunch and generous to a fault. I’m proud to be among them. If you wish to attend the Ride Annie Ride benefit run, or wish to make a contribution, please see the attached flyer for contact information.

Enjoy the ride…

I have been on a lot of rides and been to alot of places, but Annie none of them ever made me feel the way your ride did. My heart and prayers are with you and your family. I can't wait to see you in Nevada City for our Iron Workers M/C meet.

Diane Daniels -Annie...you're now an "honorary Savage Cycles biker chick"  April 25, 2010 12:02 PM
I found out about this event on the Biker-or-Not (BON) site...it was posted on there by Bill Carter. Never met Annie, or Rocky, or Bill for that matter...but after reading about Annie, I felt compelled to be a part of this special day. I've been riding my Harley for years and call it my 2-wheel therapy...all my cares and worries evaporate as soon as I get on my bike and head out down the road...so wanted to be a part of Annie having that same experience. Annie, you are one helluva lady, and I will always remember your beautiful smiling face....and the kindness and closeness I felt with everyone on this ride, and, a big thank you to the guys who helped me fix my bike when it broke down (guess it ain't a Harley unless it takes a crap once in awhile, right?). When heading out yesterday morning, I only knew one person on this ride, but at the end of day, I went away feeling like I was part of a wonderful, loving, caring family. To me, this is what being a "biker" is all about. I'm glad you liked your ride Annie and hope you get the chance to saddle up again. I was also very touched to see you wearing the "Savage Cycles" t-shirt I brought you...You, my dear, are now in a very selective ladies only club....and we're awfully glad to have you :) God Bless You Annie and your Family - Diane Daniels :) P.S. I tried to post a pic of Annie & me but not sure it' going to show up....so if anyone would like me to email to them, please email me at snappychip@yahoo.com. 100_1629.JPG
Rachael Garin -Annie's- brother in law's- sister  April 25, 2010 10:59 AM
Andrea, or "Annie" and Jamie Goeden, are my sister's in law. Jamie Goeden married my brother David. Annie is Jamie's little sister, and just as much a sister in law to me! This story is about 4 people who impacted eachothers lives in such a way, that the only description of how it changed their lives would be; They truly shine... And brighter stars i have not seen... Before David & Jamie even married, Jamie, and Annie lost their mother to the same cancer. Their Father to a heart attack. Since the marraige Jamie and Annie also lost their brother in Arkansas, and so on until it is only Jamie and Annie- And now David. So they start as a family- David and Jamie and Annie. And then one day the beautiful Jacob comes to be in Annie's future... David and Jamie cannot have children, and are overjoyed at the news of their soon to be nephew or niece, especially when Annie accepts their offer to live with them during the pregnancy, and however long she might need to after... Sometime into the pregnancy, they discover that what Annie thought to be an old sports injury acting up, was actually the same cancer their mother died from years before... After Jacob was born Annie started radiation treatments, and her suffering began.. She could not hold or play with her newborn child as every mother yearns to, for through her skin would transmit poisons to the baby from the radiation, she was weak, had blisters down her throat, she was always nauseaus, vomiting, lethargic. It was the worst kind of hell to go through, and nothing could be done to change any of it... Not even for the angel Jacob..... But Annie held on and fought like a trooper, and shined all the way through... And in the back ground, ever faithful and true, to family, to love, life, and all thats good and right with the world, are Jamie and David, and little Jacob.. And as closely beside Annie as could possibly be, have raised and loved little Jacob since the very first day! They have worked, and provided, and made the best possible decisions for each and every situation that arises for their little family of 4. 4 stars that shine brighter than the rest. There was never selfishness, or resentment. There were no real problems, not with love, or respect, or happiness as a family unit. They all fought together for all the same cause. And never once did they falter. They did not abandon their family unit no matter how hard, or how much it hurt, or how tired, or how frustrated they became. They never once thought to walk away.. And after so long of fighting to keep their happy family unit intact, the star that outshines them all is leaving the atmosphere of her life, and will go out... Annie is leaving the scene... How ironic life is, and how devastating an impression it will leave with us all... She will leave this family on earth only to rejoin her family in the sky, where all the stars shine for those they loved, for those they left behind... I love you Andrea, and god knows i'm going to miss you... David, Jamie, and Jacob i love you too... Rachael

This event touched my hart more then even words can say. I was personaly honored to be part of a ride with such meaning to one VERY SPECIAL PERSON. Seeing the hard work put into this event from so many different people show the true meaning of A Motorcycle Family, and Brotherhood. Again I Very much enjoyed the event meeting new people, and meeting Annie herself. This Ride I will never forget.

Hello everyone, Rocky is very generous and has a heart of gold and is working very hard to do the right thing by helping in a way that can bring people together for Annie and to help make a difference in not only Annie's heart but all of ours. I'm sure the turnout will be a good one and can only hope to be there to see Annie and her smile. Love you Rock,
Valerie Robinson -Rocky's Mom and a friend of Annie  April 13, 2010 08:09 PM
I've only known Annie since she found out she had the cancer and to know her is to love her. She's always with a smile I think to make others feel good instead of the other way around. But now it's our turn to really make that smile real for her. If you have a bike, come join us, come alone or bring a friend. Donations will be for Annie, lunch is on us. Be sure to R.S.V.P. We need a head count.

I have been working in this fantasyland of motorcycles, biker's and charitable events for seven years and I am so blessed. I love my work and love the people who live and work in this small community of biker's. They are very kind and generous people. Rocky's article is right on because what makes these people so special, is that all differences are thrown into the wind as they ride down the road on behalf of someone like Annie. If they hear that a family needs help financially, or a fallen brother is having a memorial, they don't hesitate to email, call, or knock on your door to get you out there is support of whatever the cause. I love that about my motorcycle family. If there is a charity or a person like Annie who deserves our attention, we will be there and will make her day a memorable one. It's people like Rocky that gets word to me and we all reach out to make her day a special one. I think we are lucky people and I am looking forward to being there with Annie to make her wish come true.
