Your dream job awaits. Thanks to Kawasaki you can be living the high life of a swanky motojournalist at the AMA Superbike races this May at Infineon.
We can feel your envy. If you're any sort of motorcycle enthusiast, you'd love to have our jobs. We get to ride the latest bikes, travel to beautiful places, stay in posh hotel rooms, and hobnob with famous racers as part of our work duties here at MotorcycleUSA.
If you've ever imagined yourself having a job at a motorcycle magazine, now's your chance to step into a pair of motojournalist's boots for a dream weekend, what we call the Living the Dream Fantasy Weekend. Sponsored by the generous folks at Kawasaki, we'll fly you out to beautiful Sonoma County in California, set you up at a sweet hotel, and get you into the AMA Superbike races at Infineon Raceway, one of the most picturesque tracks in the country.
Sounds great so far, right. But the good times keep on rolling from there. The day after watching your heroes race around the undulating hills of Infineon, you'll have a chance to ride one of several Kawasaki sportbikes on the same track you've been checking out all weekend. You'll also have some of the best photographers in the country capturing your exploits on the track.
Sound too good to be true? Well, it is. Sort of. There will be some work involved. We'll be there with you to hold your hand as you write an actual race report and interview a top-level racer. Then you'll also have to write a report on your experience so we can share it with the rest of the MCUSA readership.
Of course, you won't get paid for it. But considering you'll have one of the best weekends of your life at virtually no cost to you, you'll understand why we willingly accept our low journalist salaries.
We like hanging out with interesting, literate people, so the winner of this trip of a lifetime will be selected from entries you submit. Along with your age, riding experience, and contact information, we want you to send in an essay of 150 words
or less on the subject of motorcycling. It could be a mini bike test, some insightful comments about the motorcycle world, or a description of a memorable ride - or whatever. We already know we're the best online magazine out there, so don't burn too many words telling us how great we are.
Entries will be judged on their creativity and entertainment value. You need a valid motorcycle endorsement to be considered, and those with trackday experience will rise to the top. It will also help your cause if you're familiar with AMA Superbike racing.
