Dainese Italian Legendary Tour Preview 2011

Tuesday, September 6, 2011
The Yamaha YZF-R6 is most happy when leaned over through a corner.
The transition from the small streets of Bologna to the endless fields of grapes is definitely experienced best on a motorcycle.
This week Motorcycle-USA is traveling to Italy to visit Dainese’s headquarter and go on a touring ride with some of its past and present racing champions.
This week marks the start of the third annual Dainese Italian Legendary Tour. This motorcycling adventure is brought to you by Italian motorcycle safety gear and apparel brands, Dainese and AGV. The tour gives folks a behind the scenes look of the two brands and Motorcycle USA will be there.

On Wednesday we’ll visit the company’s headquarters in Vicenza, Italy (just a northwest of Venice) to see its extensive line of products and view some of its manufacturing process. After, we’ll gear up and hit the road on a three-day ride that will see us zigzagging across the Italian side of The Alps. During the course of our trip we’ll experience some of Italy’s most picturesque locations, like Lake Como, before riding over the Mottarone Pass and Lake d’Orta before ending in the city of Turin. We’ll be riding a variety of different streetbikes like Ducati’s Diavel and MV Agusta Brutale, amongst other bikes.

Joining us on our ride will be a few of Dainese’s athletes from the past and present. Once again, 15-time GP World Champion, Giacomo Agostini will be joining us as well Marco Lucchinelli whom also has a GP title to his name. Two new faces are joining the tour this year: four-time World Superbike Champ Carl Fogarty and current San Carlo Gresini MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli.

Throughout the trip we’ll be posting daily updates and photos on Motorcycle-USA.com so make sure to check back to get a feel for what it’s like to ride on some of the world’s best roads with motorcycle road racing champions from the past and present.
