Valentino Rossi is known for his speed on two wheels, but in late 2012 he dusted the competition at the helm of a Ford Fiesta during the Monza Rally. Check out this exclusive Rossi video footage provided by Oakley.
Back in November of 2012, Valentino Rossi took time from breaking in his new YZR-M1 to compete in the Monza Rally, going on to win the Stage Rally and Master Show and giving the Oakley-Monster VR 46 Team its second consecutive win in the event. The win came after two vastly disappointing seasons in MotoGP with Factory Ducati, and his trip to the top-step came as a breath of fresh air.

"This is more than a normal victory,” said Rossi following his Monza victory. “When you climb on the top step of the podium it's always special, but most of all, I hope this is the turning point after two difficult seasons, unfortunately beyond any prediction. Let's hope this is the beginning of a new era."

During the Stage Rally, Rossi beat out racer Dino Capello by just 2.8 seconds, as the two battled for supremacy well ahead of the field. During the Master’s Show, where riders go head-to-head, Rossi held the early advantage after posting the top time in his heat. Capello proved to be a fierce competitor once again, but Rossi eventually gained the advantage, taking the win by 8.5 seconds.

At bottom, Rossi likes to go fast, whether piloting a Ferrari, Fiesta, Motocross bike or MotoGP prototype. He also likes to win, and to help commemorate his success at Monza, Oakley put together this awesome highlight clip from the race, exclusively for Motorcycle USA. Follow Rossi as he rips through corners and puts the pedal to the floor in the video which gives you an unparalleled view of The Doctor in action.
