Confederate C120
The C120 Renaissance Fighter will be produced by Confederate in a limited 45-unit run.
Every year the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book catalogs all the extravagance that reminds us regular Joes what true schlubs we are. With Black Friday now upon us, what better time to showcase the unattainable in the two-wheeled world from Neiman Marcus – the Confederate C120 Renaissance Fighter.

So, you want to be a Renaissance man? (Get it, renaissance) Well, start robbing banks my friend, because at $110,000 the C120 ain’t cheap. The wild-looking C120 Fighter is one of Confederate’s three production designs, joining the B120 Wraith and F131 Hellcat Combat. Only 45 Fighters will be produced by the American firm, which was founded in 1991 by Matt Chambers and has recently relocated to Birmingham, Alabama, after its New Orleans HQ was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

The billet aluminum, carbon fiber and titanium-constructed C120 Fighter is difficult to describe. Minimalist, hulking, modern… Perhaps the best description is straight off the Confederate site:

Confederate C120
One prominent design feature on the C120 (there are more than one!) is the girder-type front end.
“Craft preparation and specification is uncompromised. The aesthetic is fresh, industrial, sculptural, holistic and honest. The saddle of the Fighter is your place for those outings which require extended time, geography, meditation and distance. Personal liberation will result!”

All clear? The spec sheet is a little more detailed.

A 45-degree Twin powers the C120, displacing 120 cubic inches (1966 cc) via 4 1/8-inch bore and 4 1/2-inch stroke. CNC billet aluminum is used for the engine heads, the front and rear bulkheads, the cases for the 5-speed transmission, suspension, brakes… There’s a lot of it!

The front-end features a prominent girder-type suspension with “carbon fiber blades.” Carbon fiber also sources the wheels - 3 x 19-inch front, 8 x 18-inch rear - which are shod with Pirelli rubber. The brakes are a four-piston caliper front and two-piston caliper rear. The rear suspension is a pair of shocks attached right beneath that little nub of a seat and titanium backbone.

Speaking of the seat, it’s 27 inches off the ground. Other dimensions of the C120 Fighter include a 64-inch wheelbase. The weight is listed at 430 lbs. Did we mention there’s a lot of billet aluminum and it costs $110,000?
Confederate C120
Will this be under your Christmas Tree? Depends, is your name Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Tom Cruise...

So who’s going to buy the C120? Good question. But doesn’t it irk you a little that while you’re maxing out credit cards to buy junior a GI Joe and pay the gas bill, somewhere a billionaire CEO is sitting on the crapper thumbing through the NM catalog to see if anything tickles his fancy.

Oh, well, we wanted a Desmosedici anyway!

A fool and his money... what a total POS - ugly, impractical, pointless and a waste of materials... Looks like something thrown together by a bunch of half wits in shop class... Only jay Leno and some techno nerds could possibly think this pile of scrap is something of value.

The only person that might want this bike is Jay Leno!
