Red Bull New Year No Limits 2008
After the success of Red Bull’s 2007 version of the
New Year No Limits, which saw Australian Robbie Maddison set a new world record distance jump of over 322 feet at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas last New Year’s Eve, the ‘Bull and Sun’ is back for round two. And so is Maddison – or Maddo as the daring Aussie is more commonly called.

Robbie Maddison is going vertical this time around.
Joining Maddo this year is Rhys Millen, who was also slated to partake in the event last year, his goal being to backflip a trophy truck from ramp to ramp. Unfortunately, Millen was hurt in training for the event this time last year. Luckily, the 36-year-old New Zealand native is back to full health and no doubt will be attempting to flip the off-road truck straight into the pages of the Guinness Book of World Records.

Rhys Millen is back after a practice crash last year to try and backflip a truck into history.
“My body can be broken but my mind cannot,” said Millen. “This year, people will witness the first ramp to ramp back flip in an off-road truck - ever!”
Maddo, on the other hand, has opted to mix things up a bit. Where last year he went for the distance record, this year it’s all about height. The goal is to jump over 100 feet vertically, attempting to leap from a ramp onto the top of the mock Arc de Triomphe in front of Paris Las Vegas. Upon completing the jump, he will then drop off the Arc and freefall 50 feet to a massive landing ramp below.
Even Maddo himself knows this one far exceeds the danger level of anything he has tried to date. "To see how high 100 feet is, it’s pretty overwhelming. Pretty much a fall from there would be 100-percent fatal. I love this stuff. Makes me so scared,” said Maddison.
