Custom Builder Iron Slave Choppers Picture 8 of 21

It might look like an old Shovelhead on the outside, but with heads ported and polished by BC Gerolamy and Jim's lifters and rods, this ain't your typical Shovel.

Steve - Shovel Motor
September 20, 2009 09:35 PM
Rj put this motor together initially. He was unable to get the motor running after 3 months of tampering with it. He and his friend Doug could not figure out why the motor would not run so RJ called on Steve and George from Lillian Rose Choppers and Dirty D from Dirty D's Chopp Shop. Steve, George, and Dirty worked on this motor for 10 hours and finally got her running. The oil pump breather spacer was .080 over spec and the magneto cone was torqued over the over extended spacer. This caused the cam bearing and cam bushing to bind up the cam. The oil pump main shaft keyways broke and the shaft was bent. We basically had to rebuild the whole lower end on the cone side. Steve tuned the magneto so perfectly, that you can start the motor by pushing the kicker by hand. Thanks to Steve and Dirty, this motor runs perfect! And the best part,,,RJ bought us a pizza and beer,,,NO CHARGE!!!!! Look up Lillian Rose Choppers, cuz without LRC, this bike would be a paperweight!
