2012 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom Project Bike Photo Gallery
We've been working to give the 2012 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom the hot rod performance to go along with its hot rod looks.
Motorcycle USA aims to add to the hot rod look of the 2012 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom by swapping out the intake and pipes and switching up a few pieces of the bodywork.
We snagged a VN900 Custom Gel Seat from the Kawasaki Accessories catalog for the 2012 Vulcan 900 Custom project.
The Vulcan 900 Custom is breathing much easier now thanks to the addition of a Forcewinder performance intake from Force Motor Products.
We've added a Forcewinder intake, Low and Mean chin scoop/radiator cover, Reaper front fender and a Kawasaki gel seat for the first round of upgrades to the Vulcan 900 Custom project bike.
The Forcewinder Air Intake Kit in Gloss Black comes with everything you need for a simple swap for $426.25.
After you get the intake cover off, the stock air cleaner and its backing plate had to come off.
The Low and Mean Vulcan 900 Chin Radiator Shroud cleaned up the clutter between the bike's downtubes while the L&M Reaper front fender has a more aggressive cut and covers more of the tire.
The 2012 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom has seen subtle changes that make it look racier and run faster.
The Forcewinder air intake took care of the low-end flat spots and helps the gearing stretch further.
A Kawasaki logo adorns the pillion of the VN900 Custom Gel Seat.
We got a big boost in performance from the addition of a Forcewinder Intake and Vance & Hines Slash Staggered Pipes, the 2012 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom receiving gains of 7.16 lb-ft of torque and 10.12 hp.
A 12mm socket is needed to remove the four nuts holding the headers to the the cylinder heads.
The stock mounting bracket connecting the pipes to the bike had to come off but you use a couple of the stock bolts to attach the new bracket provided by Vance & Hines.
The Vance & Hines Slash Cut Staggered Pipes are much shorter than stock and open up the back of the bike. They give the Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom a bigger bark and a noticeable boost in power.
Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom owners looking to give their bike more power and better sound, we highly recommend throwing on a pair of Vance & Hines Twin Slash Staggered Pipes.
