The Peugeot Speedfight 3 Scooter is now entering the third generation with a new look and new color schemes.
Peugeot's best selling Speedfight range of mopeds and scooters is now entering its third generation. The latest model range will shortly be launched with a choice of air-cooled or liquid-cooled engines first shown to dealers in Paris in April.
According to the French car giant, more than half a million Speedfight scooters have been sold over the past 14 years and they expect the demand to continue, hence their all new range, which has been completely redesigned to compete with the other manufacturers products.
The Speedfight 3 has restyled bodywork and new color schemes to make it stand out. In addition the new model has enlarged 13-inch alloy wheels, 32mm upside down hydraulic forks and 215mm Shuricane front disc brake with radial dual piston caliper.
The riding position has apparently been improved by moving the fuel tank under the floorpan, also lowering the center of gravity to give better handling.
Weighing in 97 kg (214 lbs), the Speedfight 3 will be one of the lightest machines in its class and will be powered by a new high performance horizontal 2-stroke 50cc engine. The liquid-cooled option has a rear hydraulic disc brake and gas reservoir shock. For city slickers it comes with a dual function 12V socket, so mobile phones and accessories can be charged on the move.
