When a new bartender discovered the Holiday Isle Tiki Bar had a surplus of blackberry brandy, banana liqueur, and light rum he mixed them up to create the first rum runner. Named for Florida's rum smugglers, such as Captain McCoy, whose rum was known as The Real McCoy amongst a slew of impostors.
