I currently own seven wonderful motorcycles, including a Desmosedici RR, a Bimota Tesi 3D and a BMW HP2 Sport but of all my motorcycles (and of all the motorcycles I have ever tested in my long life of motorcyclist -I am 57-) it is the Ducati 999 R (Xerox) that I by far prefer... The handling is sublime, the brakes are the same as on my Desmosedici, the ergonomics perfect, the engine has more real world rear wheel horsepower than a the latest 1000 cc Gixer, R1 Ninla or Blade (146 rwhp vs. 140/144 rwhp) and, in my opinion, it is also the most beautiful bike ever designed. I feel sorry for Terreblanche its designer who got unjustly and outrageously lynched by the most conservative (and pathetic...) fringe of the so-called "Ducatisti" since its beginning in 2003. The 999 is a much better bike than the 916 it replaced (and in my opinion a much better bike than the 1098 its successor which is only a vile copy of "Tamburini immortal masterpiece"...). The 999 R is THE motorcycle which an average pilot can fully exploit in terms of potential that still remains extremely hight. It is the bike that YOU control instead of being controlled by it !
