The winner of our 2009 250F Motocross Shootout is about to undergo a transformation into full-on race bike courtesy of the folks at Rocket Exhaust in Lake Elsinore, California.
We’re not even a full month into 2009 and already it’s been good year for Honda’s new CRF250R. We knew it was an excellent moto machine when we first spun some laps on it during our
Honda CRF250R First Ride last fall. And later, during our
2009 250F Motocross Shootout, it impressed our testers enough at the ultra-fast Racetown 395 MX track to take top honors in its class.
But even a great motocross bike can be made better and that’s exactly what we’re doing with our Honda 250F. To exploit its true potential, we’ve enlisted some help from the folks over at
Rocket Exhaust. In a matter of just a few short weeks they’re going to transform it from a competent shootout winning stocker to a full-on factory-level racebike.
That’s right, the machine is going to be stripped down and fitted with the most cutting-edge performance parts in the off-road industry. Everything from the engine and chassis, to the controls and bodywork, are going to be tweaked in order for the rider to lap faster and with more confidence than before.

Best of all, the entire project including parts and work performed will be ready and available to you. That’s right, no ‘top-secret suspension shim stacks’ or ‘for our eye’s only, engine cylinder heads’.
