As touch-screen GPS systems in today's automobiles have raised the standard of living for navigationally challenged drivers, motorcyclists are jumping the bandwagon too with the latest direction-finding and PDA technologies.

Like many things in the world of motorcycles, a personal electronic navigator is fast becoming a must-have accessory that goes well with any bike. And like any trick bolt-on, these devices can put a respectable dent in a rider's wallet, so protecting your investment is always a good idea.

Enter OtterBox's newest creations, the Armor 1900 and 3600 weatherproof PDA cases. Moving with the times, OtterBox has expanded into the PDA/GPS arena with dustproof, waterproof and crushproof covers for virtually any type of digital assistant.

The difference in the two models lies primarily in their size. While the 1900 is OtterBox's smallest unit, made only to accommodate a single PDA, the 3600 allows for additional equipment connections including printers and GPS systems, among others.

OtterBox 1900 users are granted access to their equipment by way of a flexible, interactive screen which also plays part in providing the container's airtight seal. The 1900's compact design is targeted at the newer, smaller assistants and features easy access for CF and SD memory card slots through the top and additional PDA connections at the bottom. It also provides access to headphone and headset connections.

Though sending faxes while on the road may seem illogical or even impossible to some, for the technologically savvy, the Armor 3600 offers expandable capabilities necessary for multi-device functions. Part of that technology includes waterproof cable connections to ensure your data isn't lost in transmission.

The OtterBox 3600, despite being the largest and most rugged of the Armor line, weighs in at a scant one pound whereas the 1900 weights 25% less. Available in black and yellow, both cases come with an exterior stylus holder for the unsteady and fat-fingered among us.

Every rider knows that getting lost is a crappy affair, but getting lost and losing your GPS is even worse. Knowing this, the people at OtterBox also offer a shock-absorbing, adjustable mount to make sure your device actually makes it from point A to point B. If for some reason you need to find your way around while off the bike, both cases are fitted with adjustable straps that make hand-held transportation a cinch.

At perhaps a fraction of the cost of your PDA or GPS, the newest OtterBox creations could save your investment from virtually anything encountered on the road. Secure from the elements and accidents, finding your way around should be that much easier, all for under a hundred bucks.
