Protex Racing offers three sizes. Color options don't change.
Protex Racing offers a unique gearbag for the traveling motorcyclist. The bags are available in three sizes and the largest is roughly the same as a standard gearbag you might get from any apparel manufacturer. Protex blends the concepts of soft and hard luggage by providing a cases which protect your belongings without feeling blocky or awkward.
The Scoop
Protex Racing’s polycarbonate ABS shell is hard enough to protect the contents, but has just a bit of flex which makes it more forgiving when getting the zipper closed. The body gets scuffed after just a couple trips, but at least you can hide them with some stickers. A TSA lock is built into the body of the case which adds a good measure of security.
Inside, the gearbag is painfully barren. A foam pad rests on the bottom and a bungee web is all that are included. The web uses clips on four corners to attach to the gearbag and holds a helmet in place. It’s a good thing because there’s no other way to compartmentalize items. It has only a single, small mesh

pocket large enough for a wallet and keys. Other than that it’s just a large, open space which allows for smaller items like goggles, gloves, tools, etc to rattle around unchecked.
Expandable aluminum handles make getting around extra easy, but the best feature in our opinion is the set of four swiveling wheels (only available on the largest gearbag). They allow the bag to be pushed or pulled in any direction and you don’t have to do the normal routine of grabbing a handle and kicking out the bottom in order to get moving. Also, it never tips over. Getting through airport terminals has never been easier.
The Sentence

The interior is very roomy but lacks usable compartments for small items.
The styling is clean and it’s a joy to transport, but the lack of interior compartments makes it essentially a box with wheels. The smaller components have a universal appeal for dirt or street riders and are similar to duffel bags with the added bonus of a protective shell and helmet capacity. The large gearbag is better suited to street riders or auto drivers who wear large, one-piece suits and don’t have to worry about keeping muddy boots and gear separate. Protex luggage is distributed by Japanese Fujikowa Industries so be ready to figure out current exchange rates if you decide this is the bag for you.
