Harley-Davidson Night Rod

Introduced by The Motor Company in 2006, the VRSCDX Night Rod blends aspects of the V-Rod, the founding member of Harley's line of 1130cc, twin overhead-camshaft, 60-degree V-Twins, with features of Harley’s Street Rod. The Night Rod’s liquid-cooled engine is designed with help from Porsche engineers.

The Night Rod is Harley-Davidson’s popular V-Rod decked out in a host of blacked-out components. The VRSCDX Night Rod’s blacked-out treatment includes five-spoke, cast aluminum wheels, a black powder-coated 125-hp Revolution engine with highlighted fins and polished covers, a black frame, mirrors, hand controls, and speed screen visor. 

Like the other members of Harley’s VRSC family, the current Harley-Davidson power cruiser has sleek, drag-bike styling, a stretched-out profile with a 34-degree rake angle on a 49mm fork, a wide rear tire and Brembo disc brakes. The Night Rod’s performance and power brings the legacy of H-D’s Screamin’ Eagle / Vance & Hines Pro Stock motorcycle drag racing team to the streets.

In 2008, the Harley Night Rod received the newest edition of the liquid-cooled, 1250cc Revolution V-Twin engine and a slipper clutch. An Anti-Lock Brake System also became available as an option. The motorcycle hails back to the glory days of hotrods and muscle cars.
