I personally feel that this is the best bike I have owned. While it is deffinitely a heavy cruiser, it is very controllable and does not overwhelm the rider. Of course, a little experience can't hurt and will make the Road Star much more rider friendly. (I would not recommend it to a new rider due to the weight and size.) I put more than 73,000 on my '05 Road Star with absolutely no problems. It never did burn a drop of oil or miss a beat. I have a friend with over 100,000 miles on his and it is still going strong. Of course, regular maintenance, especially the use of premium oil, is recommended but this is true of any bike.
