The Shift Stryker glove is a comfortable option for street motorcycle riders.
A good pair of motorcycle gloves is a wonderful thing. They provide protection from the wind and rain, as well as abrasion resistance in the event of an unexpected get off. They also deliver comfort and sense of security, making a ride more enjoyable. I have been getting all of those benefits with my go-to gloves of late - the
Shift Racing Stryker Leather Glove.
Having taken some long-distance treks with less than stellar fitting gloves, trust me – you want something that fits your hand like, well, a glove! Fortunately the Shift Stryker is an extremely comfortable fit. A simple leather design, the sidewalls are pre-curved to conform to a riding grip and the leather reinforced palm grips easily.
After long 250-mile stints in the saddle, my finders and hands were willing to go on. The only minor complaint is a small bump on the interior of the index finger. Perforated panels on the top of the wrist and underside of each finger make the Strykers breathable.
Knuckle padding on the top of the glove delivers protection, supplemented by the unobtrusive integrated armor. The armor shield is padded beneath, ensuring yet more comfort. And the real-world protection is ample. When a fellow coworker took a spill this past summer, the Strykers and his hands came away completely unscathed.
The only real downside of the Strykers are their wet/cold weather limitations. Hard-core tourers facing lots of rain or cold temps would be better served with waterproof and insulated gloves. That said, the Strykers are perfect street gear for the regular commuter or weekend warrior – a versatile glove that I packed for cruiser tours, sportbike jaunts and even a dual-sport excursion.
As I said before, the Strykers are my glove of choice right now. So how much do I like them? Well, when I accidentally left my Strykers behind on a road trip – I stole my co-workers pair. That’s right Bryan, your Strykers are gone my friend.
