The Harley-Davidson Map App has 975 rides programmed into it and includes tips on places to stop and things to see along the ride.
Looking for that next epic motorcycle ride to embark on? MAD Maps has an app for that. The Harley-Davidson Map App for iPhone has 975 rides programmed into it, the press release claiming it offers the “best scenic rides for motorcyclists in the United States” because it has been developed with the help of local riders. Who knows where those hidden pearls of asphalt lie more than the people who ride them? The Mad Maps app also highlights biker-friendly stops along the way, from scenic overlooks to unusual attractions to biker roadhouses.

Since the app caters to Harley-Davidson riders, it has a dealer locater which will help riders find the nearest Harley-Davidson dealership. It also has a Best Western locater because the hotel chain offers a discounted Harley-Davidson rate and usually has amenities it extends to bikers. The app costs $4.99, and since everybody has a smart phone these days, to have a list of potential new routes to discover throughout the United States at the tip of your fingers is smart and convenient. The app works on an iPod Touch with an WiFi connection but it’s not fully compatible with the iPad.

Of course, there’s a great way to find new motorcycle rides without spending a cent, too. Just click on Motorcycle USA’s Ride Guide to discover tons of street and dirt rides. There’s also a listing of road racing and motocross tracks. The Ride Guide includes turn-by-turn directions and downloadable GPS maps are provided by Ride with GPS. It also allows you to upload your own favorite local ride so you can tell other people about cool things to see and do in your area. Don’t forget to include your favorite local biker-friendly watering hole!
