All makes and models of bike and biker are welcome to the 27th Annual Toy Run, scheduled this year for Saturday, Nov. 19. Organizers are expecting some 200 or more charitable motorcyclists to participate in the event, which benefits Northern Arizona Boys & Girls Club.
The 2011 Toy Run will feature a scenic ride around Verde Valley with stops at KA Cycles, Olde Sedona Bar & Grill, Full Moon Saloon, Page Springs Restaurant and the Valley Verde Fairgrounds.
You don’t have to be a motorcycle enthusiast to enjoy the event. Everyone can join the scenic ride and festivities whether touring by bike, car, carriage, horse or hotrod. Any and all donations are deeply appreciated by the boys and girls.
Register for the charity poker run at the Cottonwood Walmart from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 19. The Toy Run departs Walmart via a police escort at 10:30 a.m. for a scenic ride around the Verde Valley. Stops include KA Cycles, Olde Sedona Bar & Grill, Full Moon Saloon, Page Springs Restaurant and the Verde Valley Fairgrounds.
The fairgrounds will host the popular Flagstaff band, The Shifters, while the Toy Run party continues with a 50/50 drawing, silent auction and a custom bike and car show. Food will be served.
Tickets to the poker run and the Verde Valley Fairgrounds cost $20 per person plus a new, unwrapped toy per bike or other vehicle. Admission to the fairgrounds alone is $10 per person plus a new, unwrapped toy, starting at 11:30 a.m.
