Wheels Through Time on American Pickers
Monday, March 05, 2012

Wolfe and Fritz love to find two-wheel antiquities. They're taking a piece of motorcycle history they found near Sturgis over to the guys at the Wheels Through Time Museum on the episode that airs on the History Channel tonight.
Fans of garage finds and historic motorcycles will want to tune in to
American Pickers tonight. Apparently Frank and Mike found a “really cool piece of automotive/motorcycle history near Sturgis, South Dakota” and are taking it over to Dale and Matt Walksler at the
Wheels Through Time Museum to get their opinion on the rare find. Dale and his son Matt have one of the finest collections of American made motorcycles around. MotoUSA contributor Neale Bayly does an admirable job of conveying the essence of the museum in his
Guts and Glory on the Boards article for those who aren’t familiar with Wheels Through Time.
Whether you’ve been privileged enough to visit the museum or whether this is the first time you’ve heard of them, be sure to check out
American Pickers tonight at 9 p.m. on the History Channel to learn what new motorcycle treasure the guys have discovered this time. Seeing as how they found it near Sturgis, maybe it’s one of Pappy Hoel’s old bikes.
For motorcyclists making their way across the country to Daytona Beach for
Bike Week 2012, Walksler has two early-bird openings of the museum on March 2-5 and March 15-19. On March 19, they will have special guest Cristine Sommer-Simmons on hand who will be signing copies of her latest book, “The American Motorcycle Girl’s Cannonball Diary.” The book details the cross-country ride Sommer-Simmons did last summer on a 1915 Harley-Davidson as part of the Motorcycle Cannonball Run. Great stuff from the Wheels Through Time Museum. If you happen to be traveling through the Maggie Valley, North Carolina, area on your way to Bike Week, be sure to stop on by.
