The Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Lo will take its place with the rest of the fleet at Enterprise as a rental by the end of the year.
Today, Enterprise Rent-A-Car launches Motorcycle Rental by Enterprise at a new rental location in Las Vegas. The branch – with a fleet that will initially consist solely of Harley-Davidson-branded motorcycles – is the first of its kind in the United States among all major rental car companies.
Enterprise created this one-of-a-kind branch in response to strong consumer demand in the motorcycle market. Last year alone, more than 450,000 motorcycles were purchased in the United States, an increase of nearly three percent from 2011.
“Motorcycle enthusiasts are passionate about riding, and we heard from many customers who wanted to enjoy high-quality bikes, even when they’re away from home,” said Steve Short, vice president, Enterprise Rent-A-Car. “Motorcycle Rental by Enterprise renters will be able to choose from a wide selection of popular bikes and can expect the same, first-rate customer service they experience at our other Enterprise branches around the country.”
Customers will be able to immediately rent five different varieties of Harley-Davidson
motorcycles from the new Enterprise branch located at 4517 W. Flamingo Road, and the company plans to add two additional styles of Harley bikes to its Las Vegas fleet by the end of November. Specific bikes available for rent through Enterprise include:
• Street Glide
• Road Glide Custom
• Electra Glide Classic
• Electra Glide Ultra Limited
• Road Glide Ultra
• Heritage Softail Classic (available by the end of year)
• Fat Boy Lo (available by the end of year)
We chose to pilot motorcycle rental in Las Vegas because we saw an opportunity to serve a large segment of travelers who are interested in renting motorcycles to visit nearby attractions like the Strip, the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead,” Short said. “We will continue to listen to our customers and announce plans for future growth based on that feedback.”
All motorcycle renters must carry a valid motorcycle license. Enterprise will provide all motorcycle renters with helmets free of charge as Nevada state law requires that all motorcycle riders wear helmets.
