With the 2009 VMAX now being delivered to customers around the country, Star motorcycles is pleased to introduce you to customer #0001, Baxter Eaves. A pilot for UPS who routinely navigates the globe, Baxter was the very first person to put down his hard earned money towards Star’s category defying new VMAX.

In a special presentation at the Long Beach International Motorcycle Show on December 5, Baxter recounted tales of his first VMAX, a 1994 model, and the great attributes that lead him to purchase the all new 2009 model. At the presentation Star Motorcycle’s Kevin Foley and Dave Pooler gave Baxter his specially designed custom VMAX badges denoting his historic order # 0001. All customers who placed orders through their Star Motorcycles dealer will receive custom designed VMAX badges that attach to the frame of the motorcycle as well as a hard bound book which details the development behind the rebirth of the original “hot rod” cruiser.

Full information on all Star models and the complete line up of Star Custom Accessories can be found at www.starmotorcycles.com. At Star Motorcycles, “We build it and you make it your own”.

Hey Tim why don't you ride one before you judge it. Just like an engineer. Always has to be dead on right about everything in his own mind..

The book is nice and I really do not feel like the bike was overhyped. The ABS and new braking system works extremely well and with the power and torque, it needs to. The bike handles corners like a sports bike. So far as performance goes, the only 1/4 I know of was Dale Walker's 10.13 with a stock tire. I am pretty sure when Jay Gleson get on with a more appropriate tire, it will be a 9's bike. It may even do that with the 240 kit that's comming out in April or so. Oh yes...and I DO LOVE mine! With all the technology, I feel like I got a bargain. Kevin Foley and tyhe rest of the corporate guys at the LGB IMS couldn't have been nicer. And now I have a direct line in case of questions. I personally feel I got the deal of a lifetime. Cheers, Baxter Eaves

From all I've read it seems like the Vmax was overhyped, underperforms, and is overpriced. I know that's not too unusual in the land of vehicles, but I had high hopes for this bike. I'm sure a ride will still be breathtaking, though. Anyway, throwing in that book is a really cool touch. I'm fascinated with the R&D side of bikes so I'd love to look through this book. I guess this is part of the reason I became an engineer.
