Happy Halloween!! Hopefully many of you are headed to Galveston for the 2013 Lone Star Rally. A big costume contest and Halloween party is being held tonight at Sangerfest Park. Have a scary good time!
The last big biker blowout of the season kicks off today in Galveston, Texas, and there will be plenty of Halloween Havoc going on at the 2013 Lone Star Rally
. They’ll be giving away $1500 tonight in the costume contest at the Halloween Havoc Party being held at Sangerfest Park - $500 for ‘Sexiest Costume,’ $500 for ‘Most Outrageous Costume’ and $500 for ‘Best Zombie.’ Contestants need to show up at 7:30 p.m. as the contest starts at 8. Other spooky fun includes the 2013 Lone Star Rally Haunted House right across the street, and Cycle Source is holding its “Very Haunted Halloween Havoc Custom Rod & Bike Show.” Hopefully the weather will cooperate because right now Galveston is getting rocked by rainstorms.
Luckily, the rally is going on all weekend and the weatherman is calling for sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70s the rest of the time. This year, rally organizers have stepped up the star attractions as four actors from the hit TV show ‘Sons of Anarchy’ will be doing meet-and-greets all weekend long, custom builders like Jesse James and Rick Fairless are scheduled to attend, as is biker and bootlegger Don Wood from the show ‘Moonshiners.’ They’ve upped the ante in terms of bike shows as well, with John Shope and Len Edmondson conducting “The Ultimate Bagger Show” and the IMBBA hosting both a “Pro Builders Competition Bike Show” and a “Ride-In Show.” The list of entertainers runs the gamut, from rally favorite Jasmine Cain and Farrell Webber to Jared Blake. Personally, we can’t wait to catch the head-bangin’ antics of Hairball. As they say it’s a “rock & roll experience you won’t soon forget.” Texan hotties will be struttin’ their stuff for a chance at the $2000 top prize awarded to the winner of the Miss Lone Star Rally finale. There will be poker runs and benefit rides like The Outlaw Dave Ranch Ride, Victory and Indian Motorcycles are offering demo rides, and vendors will be filling the streets from The Strand to the Seawall.
Motorcycle USA flies out to Austin tomorrow where we’re picking up a 2014 Victory Cross Country and making a bee-line for the rally. We’ll arrive Friday night, just in time to hit up some Hairball hopefully. We’ll be bringing you photos and updates from the rally on our Twitter
account, so come along for the ride courtesy of Motorcycle USA.
Check the site Sunday for a report from the scene as well. Let’s ride!
