New Venue for 2014 The One Motorcycle Show
Friday, December 27, 2013
What started out as a small, intimate affair has outgrown its foundation. The One Motorcycle Show
, the annual biker shindig in Portland, Oregon, thrown by Thor Drake and See See Motorcycles, will be held in a new location this year. The new venue reportedly is a historic building about a half-mile away from the old warehouse, a little bit closer to downtown, with twice the amount of space as the former building. As The One Motorcycle Show
website states, it’s the “building of One Show Dreams.” The address is 800 SE 10th Ave., Portland, OR 97214.
The new location will help accommodate the record number of custom motorcycles expected to be at this year’s show, estimated to be at 120-plus. Throw in a projected 6-8000 people passing through the doors daily and you understand the need for a bigger venue. In addition to the killer collection of custom motorcycles that will be on-hand, The 2014 One Motorcycle Show will feature artwork, motorcycle films, music from five different bands, and everyone’s encouraged to ride for a full-on celebration of the motorcycle lifestyle. There’ll also be grub and suds for sale on-premise while See See Motor Coffee Co. will be set-up to keep the java flowing.
Shops and builders scheduled to represent at this year’s gathering include El Solitario from Spain, Chopper Dave, Pangea Speed, Loaded Gun Customs, RSD, Icon, Busch Bros and too many others to list. Admission is free, as is parking for motorcycles out front. This year’s One Motorcycle Show begins Friday, Feb. 7, 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., is open Saturday, Feb. 8 from 11 a.m. to Midnight, and wraps up Sunday, Feb. 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Seeing how Portland is a short 4.5-hour drive from our Southern Oregon HQ, you bet we’ll be there taking in the festivities.
Here’s a little bit more info on the concept behind The One, courtesy of The One Motorcycle Show website.
“5 years ago when we hosted the first One Motorcycle Show, we wanted to get people together for an event centered around the idea that the greatest bikes were the ones built, restored, re-worked, re-invented and re-imagined for a reason. We wanted to bring the builders and bikes together, give them a place to tell a story, and make some friends with other like-minded folks. A motorcycle show for motorcyclists by motorcyclists.”
See ya there!
