Nick Anglada Joins Cycle World Daytona
Friday, August 28, 2009
This is the custom Hayabusa Nick built for Ted Smith of the Rat's Hole on its 35th anniversary. The 'Track Rat' was the first custom sportbike to represent The Rat's Hole.
Nick Anglada is a pioneer in the metric world of custom sportbike building. He’s helped set trends like single-sided swingarms on sportbikes to show off fat back sides, slammed ‘em low with air ride suspension, and has turned more than his share of standard Hayabusas into high-dollar bling-bikes. When we last talked to him, he was busy building his company, Custom Sportbike Concepts
(CSC), into one of the most respected custom sportbike shops. Around that time he had just gotten offered a stint on the Metric Revolution’s Motorcycle Build-Off, a television show that pitted 22 of the nation’s top metric and custom builders against each other. For the contest, Anglada transformed an ’06 Yamaha R1 into a sick orange rocket called ‘Juice.’
Now Nick is entering a new phase. His former business, CSC, goes by the title ‘Nick Anglada Originals.’ Besides a fresh moniker, his new shop will operate out of Cycle World of Daytona, the largest powersports facility in Central Florida. Cycle World of Daytona is a multi-line motorcycle dealership that operates out of a 50,000 sq. ft., two-story building that will provide Nick a great place to work on his creations and showcase his custom bike building skills.
"I am really excited about this union," stated Anglada in a press release. "We will help draw in the crowds for Cycle World of Daytona and they are providing us with a perfect destination to build and display our bikes. I can't wait to start hosting bike nights and events during Daytona Bike Week for all the sport bike and metric riders."
Nick is scheduled to take up residence at Cycle World of Daytona on Sept. 15. He will have several of his bikes on display, including the custom 2006 Yamaha R1 called ‘Juice’ that he made for the Metric Revolution TV show. Other bikes he’ll have on display are:
* A custom 2009 Yamaha Anglada Originals R1
* A custom 2009 Yamaha Boz Bros Champion Edition R6
* A custom 2008 Suzuki B-King Featured in the Feb. 2008 issue of Cycle World
* A custom 2008 Kawasaki ZX14 Land Speed Bike
* A custom 2008 Kawasaki ZX14 built for stunt riding legend Jason Britton
Nick’s a cool guy with some mad skills at taking a stock sportbike and making it stand out in a crowd. I’m looking forward to stopping in myself and saying ‘Hi’ when Bike Week rolls back around. If custom sportbikes are your thing, I encourage you to stop by and check out ‘Nick Anglada Originals.’ After you see what this man can do with a sportbike, you’ll be ready to take out that second mortgage on your house to have him customize your ride, too.
